چکیده
The action functional for a linear elastic medium with dislocations is given. equations of motion following from this reproduce the Peach-K\"{o}hler and Lorentzian forces experienced by dislocations. explicit expressions singular finite parts self-force acting on curved dislocation are derived in framework theory elasticity an isotropic medium. velocity assumed to be arbitrary but less than shear wave velocity. slow speed near-sonic motions investigated. In limit, expression leading contribution obtained. case slowly moving dislocations, effective present paper known results.

Interaction of Moving Breathers with an Impurity
We analyze the influence of an impurity in the evolution of moving discrete breathers in a Klein–Gordon chain with non-weak nonlinearity. Three different behaviours can be observed when moving breathers interact with the impurity: they pass through the impurity continuing their direction of movement; they are reflected by the impurity; they are trapped by the impurity, giving rise to chaotic br...
متن کاملObservation of Moving Dislocation Kinks and Unpinning.
Atomic resolution electron microscopy has been used to obtain images of moving dislocation kinks on partial dislocations at 600 ±C in silicon. Video difference images are used to obtain direct estimates of kink velocity. Observations of kink delay at obstacles, thought to be oxygen atoms at the dislocation core, yield unpinning energies and parameters of the obstacle theory of kink motion. The ...
متن کاملDislocation-precipitate Interaction in Discrete Dislocation Dynamics
This contribution deals with the numerical simulation of dislocation dynamics by means of parametric mean curvature flow. Dislocations are described as an evolving family of closed and open smooth curves driven by the normal velocity. The equation is solved using direct approach by semi-discrete scheme based on finite difference method. Numerical stability is improved by tangential redistributi...
متن کاملan investigation of the impact of self monitoring on langauge teachers motivational practice and its effect on learners motivation
the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...
Prioritization of arbitrary faces associated to self: An EEG study
Behavioral and neuroimaging studies have demonstrated that people process preferentially self-related information such as an image of their own face. Furthermore, people rapidly incorporate stimuli into their self-representation even if these stimuli do not have an intrinsic relation to self. In the present study, we investigated the time course of the processes involved in preferential process...
